Dr. rer. nat. Julia Wiebke Böhm
- Diplom Molecular Biologist, University of Saarland, Germany
- Ph.D. in Biology (Molecular Biology), Humboldt University Berlin and Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC; Member of Helmholtz Association), Berlin, Germany
- Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Leukaemia Biology Program, Children’s Cancer Institute (CCI), Sydney, Australia
Dr. Julia W. Böhm is a European Patent Attorney Trainee at CH Kilger Anwaltspartnerschaft mbB.
Dr. Böhm’s areas of expertise comprise the fields of molecular biology, epigenetics, genomics and proteomics. During her diploma thesis at the department of Epigenetics, University of Saarland, Germany, Dr. Böhm studied DNA methylation changes in colon cancer using various state-of-the-art techniques, such as next generation sequencing. In her Ph.D. thesis at the MDC Berlin, Germany, Dr. Böhm’s research focused on the analysis of protein-protein interaction networks in blood cancer using LC-mass spectrometry and high-throughput peptide arrays. During her postdoctoral research at the CCI Sydney, Australia, she combined her expertise in next generation sequencing and mass spectrometry to identify biomarkers and characterize novel treatments against pediatric high-risk leukemia.
He started his academic career in research in medical robotics and image analysis, then transitioned to intellectual property in 2009. In his capacity as professor, his projects have been selected for technical innovation in education and has been continuously recognized by students and peers as an outstanding teacher.
